CTK School Foundation Holds 5th Annual Friends of the Foundation Event
The Christ the King Cathedral School Foundation Board hosted the 5th annual Friends of the Foundation dinner on Wednesday, October 8th in the Arnett Room at Covenant Lakeside Hospital. The Foundation celebrated the successes of the past year and also honored some of the people who have helped Christ the King Cathedral Church and School reach past years’ successes.

CTK High School Senior Signs With St. Gregory University
On Friday, February 6th, Christ the King High School senior Bailey Butler, daughter of Bill & Colleen Butler, signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at St. Gregory University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. St. Gregory's University is a member of the NAIA (Division I; Region VI) and of the Sooner Athletic Conference. SGU Head Volleyball Coach, Cassie McGlasson, was on hand for the signing which took place in the CTK school gym.
Butler’s successful senior year at CTK as an outside hitter cumulated in her selection for the All-District team for TAPPS 1A District 1. This is the first official signing of a CTK athlete since Christ the King High School reopened in 2002 and joined the Texas Association for Private & Parochial Schools (TAPPS) system in 2006.

CTK Celebrates Catholic Schools Week 2009 in a Big Way!
With seven days of activities ranging from the academic and athletic to the spiritual, Christ the King Cathedral School celebrated Catholic Schools Week 2009 in a big way. The last week of January has for many years been celebrated as Catholic Schools Week at CTK School along with hundreds of other Catholic schools across the nation. This year’s national theme for this special week was “Catholic Schools Celebrate Service.”
The week kicked off Sunday, January 25th with a special mass at Christ the King Cathedral con-celebrated by Bishop Placido Rodriguez and Monsignor Ben Kasteel. Students participated in all parts of the liturgy as choir members, altar servers, proclaimers, and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion.
